The Hop Yard

The Hop Yard’s hops are grown in Gorham, Maine. First plantings occured in 2012, and have since expanded into 10 acres with onsite picking, drying and baling to maximize freshness.

Nugget

Sensory: Red berries, candy notes, earthy dank

Maine Nugget deviates from the traditional characteristics of the Nugget hop. The aroma is full, and spans into tropical fruits including kiwi and pineapple. Our Nugget brings more to the table, pushing a traditional bittering variety to the front of Dry Hop bills.

Cascade

Sensory: Sweet orange peel, lime, slightly grassy and herbal

Often considered the most popular variety in craft brewing due to it’s versatility, Cascade has in some ways become synonymous with the nose of American style IPAs. Our Cascade pops with layers of sweet and tart fruit and citrus, with a candy like backbone that brings excitement to a classic variety.

Comet

Sensory: Huge grapefruit, tropical notes of Guava and Pineapple, Pink Peppercorn, Potpourri, Rose Hips

Our Maine grown Comet pops! Extremely aromatic with notes of citrus, and tropical fruit lead to a dense pepper and floral character. A great addition to any modern IPA, it plays well with others or shines as the central hop.
